"Hawaii (Stay Awake)" by Waterparks Review

LISTEN:

Up and coming pop punk band Waterparks prove that yet again, they are truly making waves in the music scene. After having an extremely successful summer on Warped Tour, they continue to show that they’re serious about making their name heard. Pulling in hour long meet and greets at each Warped Tour date, it’s clear that Waterparks are growing - fast. They are scheduled to release their debut album “Double Dare” on Equal Vision Records on the 4th of November and landed an opening spot on Sleeping With Sirens’ fall “End The Madness Tour” starting the same month.

Following the first single off of their new album “Stupid For You”, they recently released their next song “Hawaii (Stay Awake)”. Following in the same direction of the first single, their new tune has catchy hooks and lines that will leave you wanting more. With lead singer and lead guitarist, Awsten Knight’s catchy pop vocals, the song has an infectious vibe to it. The lyrics set a scene that would almost take anyone back to their high school days, with “A long weekend with curfews”. It’s the kind of nostalgic song that could very well remind you of that significant other you just can’t forget about.

This track is an excellent taste of what Waterparks is all about. Catchy, upbeat vocals and classic guitar riffs that make you want to get up and dance like nobody’s watching. With a subtle, electronic into that continues throughout the song, it’s easy to tell this will be one of the catchiest songs on the album.

The trio continues to impress the scene, definitely getting their name out there. This is personally one of my favorite tracks they’ve ever released and I’m extremely excited to hear what’s in store for the rest of this album. If you’re into music that’s more on the pop side to pop punk, Waterparks is definitely a good fit for you. With their album set to release soon, I can see big things in their future. Give the track a listen and keep an eye out for their album on November 4th. If you’re planning on catching them at a Sleeping With Sirens show, make sure to stop by their merch table. They’re planning on doing free meet and greets after every show, so make sure to stop by and say hey! I truly believe that this band is going to go far and I can’t wait to see what’s in store for them next.
