Listen, you guys. No one on Earth is a bigger Jeffree Star fan than me. When he announced the launch of his Lip Ammunition, I immediately emptied my wallet. After such a fantastic experience falling in love with his famous Velour Liquid Lipsticks, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on his new line of tube lipstick. The Lip Ammunition launched September 30th, so this product is still a baby. Despite this, my expectations were sky high, and I was not disappointed!

To begin with, I can’t discuss any Jeffree Star product without talking about the packaging. The makeup comes in an adorable hot pink cardboard shipping box, printed with lipsticks, and the packing tape is decorated with the brand star logos. Inside, everything is wrapped in hot pink tissue paper and equally pink bubble wrap. The lipsticks came in little- you guessed it - pink boxes with metallic gold accents. The lipstick tube itself is bullet shaped (hence the name) and is, once again, bright Jeffree Star pink. The tip of the tube is rose gold chrome, as is the logo on the front and the ring of stars around the bottom. In short, the packaging is EVERYTHING. Truly beautiful, and very Jeffree. Inside is a normal stick lipstick, 3.3 grams of product. These retail for $18.00 each, and can be bought on jeffreestarcosmetics.com as well as a few select online retailers (such as Morphe), and is not available in stores.

At the moment, there are ten shades, mostly new colors, but a few classic fan favorites thrown in from the liquid lipstick line. The colors I chose were Beauty Pageant and Ice Cream Blvd. Beauty Pageant is a bright, classic deep bubblegum and extremely glittery. Ice Cream Blvd is a vivid pastel pink. Both are a cream finish, and do not dry down like the liquid lipstick. Both shades are full coverage, although I will say that for some reason the first couple strokes are a bit waxy and sheer, however I think it’s just the waxy layer on the outside. Once you break through, it becomes highly pigmented.

Beauty Pageant’s application takes a bit of getting used to, as there is almost more glitter than pigment, but that’s kind of the point. The color is slightly sheer at first because of the glitter, but after I applied a couple swipes, it was full coverage and made my lips look like a disco ball.

Ice Cream Blvd went on like a dream, and had immediate coverage. Light lipstick shades are notorious for being streaky and see through, but this one is definitely not, especially after it sets for a minute.

As a side note, the Lip Ammunition is creamsicle scented, and smells absolutely heavenly! These lipsticks do transfer, but that’s to be expected with a non matte lipstick. They are very long wear, and only require minimal reapplication after eating.

Overall, these lipsticks are another amazing success from Jeffree Star. These get a solid 9/10. I wouldn’t hesitate to purchase more after his next launch of new shades!
